Improved feeding tolerance with Reuteri
Formula-fed preterm newborns were supplemented with Lactobacillus reuteri for 30 days. The infants showed a significant decrease in regurgitation and mean daily crying time and a larger number of stools compared to those given placebo. "This pilot study demonstrates the potential beneficial effects of probiotics on clinical and physiological variables related to gut function" says Dr. Flavia Indrio and co-workers from Italy.

Global agreement for oral health products
Sunstar has been granted exclusive distribution rights to BioGaia's probiotic oral health products in over 100 countries. In addition to distribution, the agreement covers the possibility of collaborative development of new oral products. "Already today, oral health products account for a significant part of BioGaia's turnover and we expect that Sunstar will soon be our largest customer" says Peter Rothschild, President BioGaia AB.
