Successful symposium about probiotics BioGaia hosted a very successful dinner symposium with the title ”Advances in pediatric healthcare – the potential of probiotics” in conjunction with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) National Conference in Washington D.C.The audience got the opportunity to listen to Professor Bengt Björkstén, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden; Dr Jose Saavedra, Johns Hopkins University School and Nestlé Nutrition, North America; Dr Teresa del Moral, Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, USA; Dr Francesco Savino, Regina Margherita Children Hospital, Turin, Italy presenting the latest research on probiotics in the pediatric setting and the latest clinical data on Lacobacillus reuteri Protectis. Dr Bryan Vartabedian, Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, USA, moderated the symposium. Video from the symposium will soon be released on the BioGaia website To BioGaia website Lactobacillus reuteri also in Denmark BioGaia’s Probiotic tablets and drops will be launched in Denmark during the first half year 2010. Pharma Nord, one of Europe’s largest producers of natural remedies and dietary supplements, will sell the products under the BioGaia brand. The probiotic products will be marketed towards health professionals and distributed via pharmacies and health food stores. To Pharma Nord Reuteri products soon in France Laboratoires BIOETHIC will sell BioGaia drops and tablets in France. The company specialises in sales and marketing of pharmaceutical products in France."We are happy to have contracted a distributor in France who work according to our now well-established model with the BioGaia brand, especially since we consider that France can become an important market for us."
