BioGaia at the IADR-CED

September 21st – 23rd BioGaia visited the IADR-CED Oral Health Research Congress in Vienna, a congress attracting scientist, researchers and dental professionals from around the world to take part of the latest science within Oral Health.

BioGaia was represented with a booth at the exhibition presenting BioGaia, Prodentis, and the clinical evidence supporting the use of drops and lozenges for periodontal diseases. During the three days a total number of approximately 1000 delegates visited the congress and the interest and awareness of probiotics as an adjunct for treatment of periodontal diseases seemed great.

On Friday morning Prof. Twetman gave an interesting lecture regarding the latest of caries prevention where probiotics and Prodentis was mentioned as a relatively new preventive method in addition to the regular daily oral care routine. Rodrigues et al, 2016 shows a caries reduction of 33% in preschool children using probiotic supplements.
