
Gender equality should be considered an important issue all over the world and an important key factor to success in a modern society. According to a recent Swedish report BioGaia is considered the 12th most gender equal company in Sweden.
The Human Development Report 2013 from the UN states that Sweden is the 2nd most gender equal country in the world. BioGaia, being a Swedish company, is very well aware of the importance of equality and like any other larger company has an equality plan. The BioGaia equality plan states, among other things, that:
BioGaia believes in the importance of an equal company, BioGaia believes that:
- an equal company is a better company
- an equal company is more fun to work for and
- an equal company is a more profitable company
The results of BioGaia’s continuous work to create an equal working place can now be found in a Swedish report made by the Allbright Foundation. The objective of the report is to investigate gender equality in the Swedish business community.
According to the report BioGaia is considered the 12th most gender equal company in Sweden. A really positive progress considering that BioGaia was to be found at position 51 in the report of 2012.

In the report we also find BioGaia as number five of all Swedish Mid Cap companies as well as number five of all Swedish Healthcare companies.
The 2013 report also shows that:
- One out of three Swedish companies doesn’t have any women in the executive management
- Two out of three women in Swedish companies have a corporate staff function
- The healthcare industry continues to be best on utilizing women’s expertise among Swedish companies.
