The probiotic mentioned in the article is non other than BioGaia’s patented probiotic strain L. reuteri Protectis.
The aim of the study is to determine the safety of L. reuteri and measure its effect on gut inflammation. The researchers are looking for up to 45 infants between the ages of three weeks and three months to be enrolled in the study.
Dr. Rhoads says, in the interview with Click2Houston.com, that “If studies in Europe are true we are going to find the babies have less crying time as early as two to three weeks after they start taking them”.
