BioGaia Protectis minipack is a food supplement containing the patented lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis®/™ (L. reuteri DSM 17938) that helps the good microorganisms restore a natural balance in the gut. Because L. reuteri Protectis naturally colonizes humans it has a strong adaptation to persist and interact with humans. L. reuteri Protectis has been tested in more than 130 clinical trials and proven both effective and safe for children.
Preparation: Tear off one minipack and open where indicated by the arrows. The powder can be mixed with breastmilk formula, water, oral rehydration solution or sprinkled on food. The powder does not change the taste of food or drink. Do not add to hot food or drink as this may damage the live bacteria.

1-2 minipacks per day. Use regulary for good gut health or when temporary stomach discomfort occurs. Recommended dose should not be exceeded. This product should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
BioGaia Protectis bady drops should not be stored in the freezer. In the freezer the oil suspension will solidify, and the probiotic bacteria will be exposed to water. This process is severely shortening the shelf-life of the product.

In BioGaia we are constantly working on improving our products. The Easydropper is a new delivery system for probiotic products. It has an improved drop function which facilitates the administration of the product and less environmental impact compared to glass bottles.
The spots are not dangerous and the product can still be used. BioGaia tablets contains ascorbic acid, which is an antioxidant that contributes to the stability of the tablets. Over time the ascorbic acid oxidizes and the color becomes darker. This darkening is seen as small “spots” on the tablet.
In most cases our partners are responsible for shipping our products and we provide them with our recommendation. If we are responsible, we have always cold transport for our finished products, even those who can handle 25°C.

Probiotics are good bacteria that are found in food or supplements. The definition is ”Live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.” (WHO/FAO, 2002). Important criteria for qualifying as a true probiotic is that health benefits should be proven in clinical trials.
